Bajaj auto: Have bike sales declined due to rising petrol prices?

Auto Sales: Rising petrol prices have also started reducing the brightness of the two wheeler market. Veteran two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto has seen a decline of 14 per cent in October business. Compared to October last year, this year the company has sold only 4.39 lakh vehicles.

The company has said that in October last year, 5.12 lakh vehicles were sold and this year this figure has reached only 4.39 lakh vehicles. On the other hand, if we talk about exports, the company has sold 4 percent less i.e. 2.21 lakh vehicles in other countries this year as compared to 2.30 lakh in October last year.
Talking about sales in the domestic business, a bigger decline has been seen in it. Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales stood at 2.18 lakh units, down 22 per cent from 2.81 lakh units in October last year.
After this news, the company’s stock saw a drop of 0.52 percent in early trade and was trading at Rs 3,690.80 per share.

Last week Bajaj launched the new Pulsar 250. These two variants have been launched as R250 and N250, which have been priced at Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.38 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, respectively.
This is the reason for the decline
Auto dealers say that business is going much worse this year than Diwali last year. He also considers the rising petrol price as the reason behind this. There is a decrease of about 30 percent in the sale of vehicles. Regarding the two-wheeler business, he says that customers do enquiry, but do not come to buy a car.
There seems to be little scope for an immediate recovery from declining sales and business uncertainty. Traders expect the situation to improve from the next financial year.
