ATP Finals Title: Germany’s Alexander Zverev defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia to win the ATP Finals title on Sunday. Zverev defeated world number two and defending champion Medvedev 6-4, 6-4 in the title match. Zverev has become the winner of this tournament for the second time. Earlier, he won the ATP Finals trophy in 2018.

This is Zverev’s sixth trophy this season. He won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Third seed Zverev took just 75 minutes to win the match. He defeated Medvedev, the winner of this year’s US Open, in straight sets. Earlier, he had lost all 5 matches against Medvedev.

Zverev said – after five consecutive defeats, this victory is comforting
After winning the ATP Finals trophy, Zverev said, ‘I have won this title from the person to whom I have been losing the last 5 matches in a row. I had to give my best. Now I am happy and ready to celebrate the holiday with this victory. For me the season is ending with such a good win. What could have been better than this.

defeated Djokovic in the semifinals
Earlier in the semi-final match, Zverev defeated world No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic of Serbia 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3 to enter the final. Zverev defeated Djokovic for the second time in a row this year in a major tournament. He also defeated Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics.
