Stock Market: An investment of Rs 5,215 crore has come in Equity Mutual Funds in October amid positive sentiment in the stock markets. This is the eighth consecutive month that equity mutual funds have received net exposure. However, this figure has decreased compared to September.

In September, an investment of Rs 8,677 crore was received in equity mutual funds. This information has been received from the data of Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi).

“The slowdown in investment flows is probably due to profit-booking by investors as markets are at their all-time highs,” said Himanshu Srivastava, Associate Director-Manager (Research), Morningstar India. Even some investors are shying away from investing in the market right now.

Withdraw Rs 23,500 crore
Akshat Garg, Research Manager, Research Investica, a platform that facilitates investing in mutual funds, also said that profit-booking is the reason for the decrease in net inflows. Akhil Chaturvedi, Chief Business Officer, Motilal Oswal AMC, said, “Broadly speaking, investing in equities is positive. However, profit-booking has also been seen along with this. People have withdrawn Rs 23,500 crore.”
