Prayagraj, The Allahabad High Court on Friday rejected the bail plea of Anand Giri, accused in the alleged suicide case of Mahant Narendra Giri, the then president of the All India Akhara Parishad. The court had on Wednesday reserved its decision on the bail plea. Justice SK Singh while dismissing the bail plea said, there is sufficient evidence against the petitioner and hence his bail application cannot be allowed. There was truncation and overwriting. The petitioner had also contended that at the time of the incident he was in Haridwar, far away from Prayagraj and the police officials had informed him about the incident over phone. It is noteworthy that a local court here had rejected the bail plea of Anand Giri on November 11, 2021.
