Election Commission strict on hollow promises

The Election Commission has written a letter to all political parties on Tuesday, warning them not to make fake and hollow promises to their voters. The commission has said that whatever promises the political parties are making, they should provide authentic information. The Commission has said that the Code of Conduct Guidelines 2015 requires political parties to explain the rationale for possible ways and means of funding election promises. The Commission found that the announcements are too irregular, vague and do not provide enough information for voters to exercise informed choice in elections.
