T20 World Cup: Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has become the fastest bowler to take 400 wickets in T20 cricket. This achievement was registered in his name after taking the wicket of Martin Guptill in the match against New Zealand on Sunday night at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Rashid played only 289 T20 matches to achieve this feat.

Rashid is the fourth bowler to take 400 wickets in T20 cricket. Recently retired West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo achieved the feat of taking 400 wickets first in T20 cricket. To reach here, Bravo had to play 364 matches. After Bravo, Imran Tahir completed his 400 wickets in 320 matches and Sunil Narine in 362.

Record for most wickets in a calendar year:

Another big record of T20 cricket is recorded in the name of Rashid. In the year 2018, he took 96 wickets in T20. This is the most wickets in T20 cricket for a bowler in a calendar year.

Fastest 100 wickets in T20 Internationals:

At the very beginning of the World Cup, Rashid became the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets in T20 International cricket. He achieved this position during the Super-12 match against Pakistan. He is the fourth player after Team Southee, Shakib Al Hasan and Lasith Malinga to have 100 wickets in T20 International matches.

Bowlers with second best economy rate
Rashid is the bowler with the second-best economy rate among bowlers who have played more than 200 T20 matches. Rashid’s economy rate is 6.34. West Indies spinner Sunil Narine is in the first place.
