Dubai. All tickets for the ICC T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan to be held at Melbourne Cricket Ground on 23 October have been sold out. The T20 World Cup will start in Australia from October 16, in which the match between India and Pakistan remains the center of attraction. According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), more than five lakh fans have bought tickets for this tournament so far.
These include the match between India and Pakistan, for which all tickets have been sold. The ICC said that additional tickets were arranged to watch the match while standing, which were sold out within minutes after being put up for sale. It added that an official sales center would be launched ahead of the competition, where fans can exchange tickets at face value.
The ICC said, fans from 82 different countries have bought tickets to watch the matches of 16 international teams in the T20 World Cup. This will be the first time since the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 that stadiums will be packed in an ICC event. Then in the final match played at MCG, 86,174 spectators were present in the stadium.
Apart from this, all tickets for matches between South Africa and Bangladesh and India and Group A runners-up in Sydney on October 27 have also been sold out, the apex cricket body said. The ICC said that the Super 12 matches between Australia and New Zealand on 22 October in Sydney, Pakistan and Group A runners-up and India and South Africa in Perth on 30 October and Pakistan and South Africa in Sydney on 3 November.
