An unknown builder bids around Rs 150 crore for lunch with Buffett
Warren Buffett, a veteran and one of the richest men in the world, is known for his charity. His annual Power Luncheon, which is organized annually to further the cause of charity, is also in the news. This is the last time Buffett is attending the Power Luncheon this year. Buffett’s last lunch event is setting a unique record. Actually, an unknown builder has made a bid of around Rs 150 crore for lunch with Buffett.
eBay and the Glyde Foundation jointly organized an auction for the Buffett Power Luncheon. The initial bid in this auction was 25 thousand i.e. about 19 lakh rupees. In the auction that started on June 12, on June 17, an unknown person made a bid of Rs 19,000,100 or about Rs 148.34 crore. This proved to be the highest bid. This is the biggest bid ever for a Buffett Power lunch.
The smallest successful bid so far in this annual event, which has been going on for the last 21 years, has been $25,000. The annual Buffett Power Luncheon was not scheduled for 2020 and 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. The last time this scheme was made was in 2019. The highest bid was 4.45 lakhs i.e. around Rs 35.6 crores. Thus the bid was four times higher than the previous record. The highest bidder was Justin Sun, a cryptocurrency billionaire businessman in 2019.
