Air India will be handed over to Tata on January 27, 2022

Air Indian Handover To Tata: The country’s oldest airline Air India will again become a Tata group company on January 27. The government has decided to hand over the ownership of Air India to the Tata Group on 27 January 2022. The government has taken this decision after getting consent from the Tata Group.

The officers are working day and night to complete all the procedures for the handover of Air India. It is believed that to complete the process of handing over the ownership, work may also have to be done on January 26 so that the handover can be done on Thursday.

Tata buys Air India for Rs 18,000 crore
Let us tell you that the Tata group was engaged in the acquisition of Air India for one and a half years. Earlier the government was looking to sell some stake in Air India. But when the government decided to completely sell its stake in the Tata group, the Tatas decided to acquire Air India at a bid of Rs 18,000 crore. The Tata group previously has Vistara and Air Asia Airlines.

Approval from Competition Commission of India also
Competition Commission of India Competition Commission of India (CCI) also Air India Limited by Tata group company Tales Private Limited. It has approved the acquisition of Air India Express and Air India Sats Airport Services Pvt Ltd. Tata Group is going to buy 100 percent stake in Tales Air India Limited and Air India Express and 50 percent stake in Air India Sats Airport Services Private Limited. Talace Private Limited (Talace) is a subsidiary company of Tata Sons. On the other hand, Tata Sons is an investment holding company which is registered with RBI as a core investment company.

Air India is a company owned by the Government of India. Air India and Air India Express Limited are companies providing domestic international flight services as well as air cargo transport services. Whereas Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited provides ground handling services in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mangalore and Thiruvananthapuram airports, while cargo handling works in Bangalore.
