Air Conditioner Sale: You may be stunned by the heat of May after April, but the market is very hot at the moment to cool you down. While the heat of April this year was making you sweat, the electronic showrooms were getting crowded. According to the data, Indian customers have bought more than 60 thousand ACs every day of April to avoid the heat.

With the onset of summer, there has been a huge jump in the sale of air conditioners (ACs) used in homes. AC companies have made tremendous sales in April this year, breaking all the records so far. The companies expect their sales to reach a record 9 million units this year.

ACs sold a record 17 lakh in April

The Consumer Electronics and Appliance Manufacturers Association (Siema) said that a record 17.5 lakh ACs were sold in April, which is the highest level for this month. Siema President Eric Breganza said that the availability of some products could be constrained in the next two months due to short supply of components such as controllers and compressors. He said the supply of products especially in the 5-star series with low energy consumption could be affected.

90 lakh ACs will be sold this year

“The industry estimates that the estimated sales of residential ACs (air conditioners) in April, 2022 is around 17.5 lakh units. This figure is double as compared to April, 2021 and 30-35 percent higher than April, 2019. The demand for air conditioners will remain good in May and June also. “Based on scorching heat and sales trends in the first four months, the AC market this year is expected to be in the range of 85 lakh to 90 lakh units,” he said.
