Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Archer Harvinder Singh wins bronze medal

Tokyo Paralympics 2020: India’s Harvinder Singh has created history in the Paralympic Games being played in Tokyo. Harvinder Singh has given another medal to the country while performing brilliantly in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. He won the bronze medal in the men’s singles Recurve Open.
This is India’s first ever Paralympic medal in archery. With this, India has a total of 13 medals in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Harvinder won the bronze medal in the men’s individual recurve event of Tokyo Paralympics by defeating Kim Min Soo of Korea.
Harvinder beat the Korean shooter 6-5 in the shoot-off and won the medal. He made it to the semi-finals of the event by defeating Mack Szarszewski of Germany 6-2. After this, he won the shootoff in the final.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Harvinder Singh, who won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. He tweeted, “Harvinder displayed great skill and determination which resulted in his medal winning. Congratulations to him on winning the historic bronze medal. Proud of him. Wishing him all the very best for the times to come.”
