A one-day seminar on Nashe Ko Nahi, Zindagi Ko Yaa was organized in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, in which hundreds of children from private and government educational institutions participated and collectively fought against the menace of drugs. took a pledge. The seminar was organized by the District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Global Peace Organization. Justice Mohammad Akram Choudhary of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, who was the special guest, said, Drugs are a serious challenge to the society, the future is also in danger. The youth, who are the future of the country, are losing their talent due to drugs. He said that drug addiction is not limited to any area, but cities and towns as well as remote villages are also in its grip.

There was a time when parents used to beg for a son, and now the time has come that many parents whose children have become drug addicts want their children to die. He is praying because drug addiction has disturbed his life. Justice said that no single factor is responsible for addiction nor can it be eradicated by the active role of any one individual. This requires a multi-pronged strategy. Most importantly, parents should keep a close watch on their children and if their children have become victims of it, treat the victim as a patient and take steps for effective treatment without wasting time. Also the most important thing is to reduce the demand for drugs as much as possible, the supply will automatically decrease. He said that once China was in the grip of drugs, the government there reduced the increasing demand, which itself brought the situation under control. The judge also emphasized on moral education, religious teachings and said that, by implementing religious teachings, we can save ourselves from such epidemic. Principal District and Sessions Judge R.N. Watal, District Development Commissioner President Babila Rakwal, SSP Amit Gupta, Bar Association President Shalandar Bhardwaj were other guests.

Advocate Sheikh Altaf Hussain, Chairman of the Global Peace Organization, Advocate Rashi Barone, Vice Chairman, also attended the seminar. Earlier, Justice Muhammad Akram Choudhary visited the district headquarters where a guard of honor was given and a sapling was also planted. He held separate meetings with judicial officers and members of the Bar Association. He also inspected an exhibition of rare items used by the Dogra rulers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries outside the auditorium organized by the General Zorawar Singh Trust. Students of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi presented a skit and rap song on drugs. Anti-drug awareness pamphlets were also distributed among the students and they were administered an oath to play their individual and collective role in drug eradication. (IANS)
