Giving information in this matter, IRCTC’s local representative Brajesh Kumar said that according to the rules, Rs 200 plus 12% GST is payable for spending two hours. They must have spent some time there so they have been charged. 50% discount was also given to the passengers, after which they had to pay Rs 100 per person plus CST.

What did the railway say?

An IRCTC official said that paying Rs 112 for urinating seems a bit high, but the charges were for using the services of the lounge. According to the statement of the lounge manager, a minimum fee of Rs 112 is mandatory after 50% off, providing passengers a coffee, Wi-Fi and access to executive lounge room for two hours.

This is not the first time that IRCTC has been in the news for a passenger’s complaint. Earlier, a man named Balgovind Verma was left in a rage after he paid Rs 70 for an order of tea, which originally cost Rs 20.
