Jofra Archer’s second elbow operation was done, know how long will be able to return to the field
Jofra Archer To Miss West Indies Series: England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been asked to stay away from the cricket field till next season. This has been done because the 26-year-old Barbadian-born cricketer has recently undergone a second surgery on his fractured right elbow. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued a statement on Wednesday saying that doctors have performed a second surgery for a fracture in his right elbow, asking him to rest for a long time.
Jofra Archer will be out of IPL 2022 auction
The second surgery means that Archer will not take part in the IPL 2022 mega auction to be held in January. He also did not play in the Dubai League of IPL 2021 for Rajasthan Royals along with England all-rounder Ben Stokes. The Royals had earlier this month decided to keep both the players out of the team ahead of the auction.
On Wednesday, the statement said that the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that fast bowler Jofra Archer has undergone a second operation on his right elbow in London on Saturday 11 December. In this operation, they need a long time to rest. The statement further said that he will return to cricket, but he will not take part in any series yet.
Archer played in T20 series against India
Archer last took seven wickets at an economy rate of 7.75 in international cricket in the five-match T20I series against India in February. He missed the IPL 2021 season in India and Dubai due to an elbow injury on his right hand. He was ruled out of the game in May this year due to an elbow fracture.
