Chennai. Superstar Rajinikanth has left for Thailand to shoot director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film ‘Coolie’. Rajinikanth revealed that approximately 70 percent shooting of the film has been completed. The next schedule of the film will be from January 13 to January 28. Speaking to media persons at the airport on Tuesday morning, Rajinikanth refused to answer questions related to politics. ‘Coolie’ is an action thriller film. Big actors like Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra, Sobin Shahir and Satyaraj will be seen in it. Bollywood star Aamir Khan will also be seen doing a cameo in this film. However, the makers have not yet confirmed this speculation. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John and Junior MGR in lead roles.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the music of Coolie is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. This film has aroused people’s interest for many reasons. One of them is that in this film, actors Satyaraj and Rajinikanth will be seen working together after almost 38 years. Both were last seen together in the superhit Tamil film ‘Mr Bharat’. This film was released in 1986. Sathyaraj played the role of Rajinikanth’s father in this film. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had rejected offers to act in some of Rajinikanth’s previous films like ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Sivaji’. The film ‘Coolie’ revolves around gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has revealed that ‘Coolie’ will be a standalone film and will not be a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
