5G mobile services will be launched first in big metro cities, spectrum will be auctioned soon

5G Telecom Services in 2022: The Department of Telecommunications has said in a statement that in the new year 2022, 5G services will be first launched in major cities. 5G service will first start in metro and big cities like Gurugram, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune.

5G spectrum will be auctioned in 2022

In March-April 2022, the government will auction spectrum for 5G services. DoT has sought recommendations from the regulator TRAI for auction of spectrum with regard to reserve price, band plan, block size, quantum of spectrum. TRAI has started consultations with industry stakeholders for auctioning 5G services and spectrum. Telecom companies have told the government, for 5G service to be made available to the people, it is necessary to keep the reserve price of spectrum low.

5G service launched from big cities

Telecom operators Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea on rollout of 5G service – set up 5G testing sites in the cities of Gurugram, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, Gandhi Nagar Huh. Obviously, 5G service will be started first in 2022 from metro and big cities.
