This bowler will join Team India in WC, got reward for strong performance in IPL-14

Avesh Khan will join the Indian team: Delhi Capitals fast bowler Avesh Khan has been rewarded for his excellent bowling in the Indian Premier League (IPL)-14. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the 24-year-old bowler to join Team India’s T20 World Cup team. Avesh will stay in UAE after IPL and will be part of Team India.

Let us tell you that the T20 World Cup will start from October 17 in UAE and Oman. India will start its campaign against Pakistan on 24 October. Avesh is the second fast bowler after Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran Malik to be asked to join the team.

A BCCI source close to the selection committee told PTI on Tuesday, “The national selectors have decided to rope in Avesh as well. Right now he will be included as a net bowler but if the team management feels then he can be included in the main players.

Avesh has taken 23 wickets in IPL-14

Avesh is capable of bowling at a fast pace and has so far picked up 23 wickets for Delhi Capitals in the current IPL season, which will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier on Wednesday. He is second in the list of bowlers with highest wicket takers along with Harshal Patel (32 wickets). The source said that Avesh bowls at an average speed of 142 to 145 kmph, gets good bounce even from flat pitches and has been closely watched by the support staff for some time now.

Avesh also went to England as a standby with the Test team but had to return mid-tour due to a fractured finger during India’s warm-up match against the combined county team.
