Sanjay Lather is the 23rd Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. In February last, when Leader of the Opposition Ahmed Hassan died. After that, Akhilesh Yadav, knowing that Sanjay Lather’s term was about to end on 26 May, still made Sanjay Lather the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council on 28 March. Now the legislature session is starting from May 23. And with that the tenure of Rajpal Yadav and Arvind Kumar Singh including Sanjay Lather is also ending on 26th May. In such a situation, now questions are being raised on Akhilesh Yadav’s decision to make Sanjay Lather as Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. It is being said that since independence, SP has been occupying the post of Leader of Opposition for the maximum number of times, then why did Akhilesh decide to make Sanjay Lather as Leader of Opposition. While there were senior leaders like Rajendra Chaudhary and SP state president Naresh Uttam in the Legislative Council. Instead of these leaders, what qualities did Akhilesh Yadav see in his friend Sanjay Lather, who decided to make him the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council for a few days. Did this decision of Akhilesh benefit the party organization?
Party leaders and political analysts have no answers to these questions. Senior journalist Girish Pandey says that even after losing the assembly elections, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is not focused on strengthening the party organization. Even now, Akhilesh Yadav is taking political decisions surrounded by his baseless friends. Due to which the responsibility he gave to Sanjay Lather, due to which his decision will always be questioned. It will be said that Akhilesh Yadav made such a person the Leader of the Opposition, who became the Leader of the Opposition for the shortest day after independence. Now this decision of Akhilesh will always raise questions on his political understanding and he will not be able to give any suitable answer to it.
