BCCI can give big responsibility to this Australian legend

Troy Cooley To Be Appointed As NCA’s New Fast Bowling Coach: Former Australia fast bowler Troy Cooley may be the new bowling coach of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). If reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can give him this responsibility for three years. Cooley is considered one of the best fast bowling coaches in world cricket.

As his bowling coach, England defeated Australia in the 2005 Ashes. The success of Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones and Steve Harmison was attributed to Cooley’s presence in the English dressing room. A BCCI official told news agency PTI that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and NCA chief VVS Laxman will have to be persuaded to appoint Troy Cooley as the bowling coach of the NCA.

Former Australia bowling coach

After the 2005 Ashes, Australia appointed Cooley as their bowling coach and he served with the team until 2010–11. He later joined Cricket Australia’s Center of Excellence in Brisbane.

PTI also reported that former India cricketers Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Shiv Sundar Das and Sitanshu Kotak will be appointed as batting coaches at the NCA. Kotak has already been named as part of the coaching staff for South Africa’s India A tour later this month. Former India spinner Sairaj Bahulle will be the spin bowling coach, while the BCCI has appointed NCA for specific roles. The three fielding coaches appointed are Subhadeep Ghosh, T Dileep and Munish Bali.

Dileep is currently working with the Indian senior team for the series against New Zealand while Subhadeep is going to South Africa with the A team. Bali is expected to work with Ket Under-19.
