Upmukhiya’s killer killed by mob in Bihar

Muzaffarpur. A deputy chief was shot dead in Paru block of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. After that the angry mob beat up the accused of murder. The reason behind the murder of the deputy chief is not yet known. A police officer said on Monday that the two are said to be friends and had come together to visit the Durga Puja fair on Sunday night.

The official said that Pankaj Sahni (32), deputy head of Rampur Keshwa Malahi Panchayat, had come to visit Durga Puja fair at night with Gaurav Kumar alias Bhutkun. Both were residents of Basantpur village.

It is alleged that after visiting the fair, the deputy head near Basantpur Chowk, Sahni took off his friend Gaurav from the bike to go home. After this, Gaurav shot the deputy chief, which led to his death. Hearing the sound of bullets, the gathered people also grabbed Gaurav and thrashed him fiercely, due to which he also died.

Police have taken the bodies of both of them and sent them to SKMCH for post-mortem. There is tension in the area after the incident.

Paru police station in-charge Ramnath Prasad said that the bodies of both have been taken in possession and sent for post-mortem. He said that the reason behind the murder of the deputy chief is not yet known, the police is probing the matter.
